Who I Am

I am a photographer. I was born in Wales in the rather late 70's, however I have lived near Liverpool all my life. I had my first taste of photography at the age of 10. It was a one day course where we photographed the local town and developed our film in the darkroom. Due to film costs I never persued it as a hobby. I went to school, to 6th form and to university. I graduated with a degree in Software Engineering. My interest in web design lead me to learn Photoshop and from there expanded my creative horizons. I bought a digital camera, and then a DSLR with a bag of lenses. By the time I was a professional web designer I quit to become a professional photographer.

I document people, explore urban environments and relax with local landscapes. My work has been exhibited in various galleries including Tate Liverpool, Open Eye Gallery, National Media Museum and twice at Albert Dock. It has also been published in magazines worldwide including Professional Photographer, DSLR User and JPGMag. My job, my life, takes me to places I would never normally go. I photograph people I would never normally meet. I am always grateful for these opportunities. Photography for me will never be just a job.
